In some parts of the world, including Australia and New Zealand we celebrate Father’s Day on the first Sunday in September.
In 2017 that date is Sunday, 3rd September.
At the time of writing this post there are just 3 days left until Father’s Day and hopefully those of you who celebrate this occasion have your plans (including gifts) all prepared and finalised.
However, for those of you who are doing some last minute scrambling to put Father’s Day together I’ve put together some last minute gift ideas that, hopefully, will save you some stress in these last few days.
Taste Buds Edible Bouquets – www.tastebuds.com.au
Taste Buds is a relatively new discovery for me. I ordered chocolate bouquet a few days before my daughter’s 8th birthday and was very happy with my purchase.
Taste Buds offers excellent value in their range. Even the AU$39.00 bouquets, baskets and hampers are generous and beautifully presented. Their range includes chocolate gifts paired with alcohol and other treats so there’s something for everyone.
They offer free *next day delivery in most cases and even offer Afterpay.
Edible Blooms – www.edibleblooms.com.au and www.edibleblooms.co.nz
Edible Blooms also offer chocolate gifts but extends their range to include fruit gifts, such as chocolate covered strawberries and even doughnut bouquets!
While I’ve never actually been a customer of this merchant before I will definitely keep them in mind the next time I have an occasion to celebrate. I mean, doughnuts bouquets?!! Yass!
The Edible Blooms website advises free *next day delivery on most types of gifts and their Delivery Information page offers extra delivery options if you need your gift super fast or on a specific date.
As will all deliveries Regional areas may take longer to please read the full Delivery Info page before you order.
For Kiwi customers, Edible Blooms have an Auckland office which means you too can order from a great range of gifts for your loved ones. While doughnut bouquets don’t appear to be available from the NZ website, they do offer cake pops, fruit, wine and other alcohol gifts as alternatives.
Gifts Australia – www.giftsaustralia.com.au
Gifts Australia is a premium gift hamper company which offers a huge array of different gifts for delivery Australia wide.
What they also offer is “Instant Gift Vouchers” which are emailed to your recipient after you order them.
You can either purchase a gift voucher for a dollar amount that your recipient can redeem on the website or you can purchase an experience activity and have the details of it sent to them to redeem later.
The experiences on offer include massages, photography portrait packages, classes, wine tours, scenic tours, even skydiving and aircraft acrobatics!
If you’re after something really unique, check out the Escape Room experience where your recipient and a few friends get to go on an adventure and put their wits to the test, solving clues to work their way to freedom.
Not your cup of tea? That’s cool, Gifts Australia also offer Ferrari Joyrides, Glamping, Hot Air Ballooning, Paintball, Water Jetpack rides and swimming with sea lions.
Check them out to find an experience that suits your dad this Father’s Day.
What about a weekend away for dad?
Could your dad do with a vacation or even a staycation?
Hotel websites like Trivago, Wotif and Hotels Combined offer excellent rates for last minute hotel bookings all over Australia and overseas.
If you need flights, Expedia and Booking.com offer discounts on combined flight and accommodation packages and you can even book car hire with them.
Expedia and Wotif are available for NZ customers as well. NZ also has Webjet and AA Traveller.
Prezzee Gift Cards – www.prezzee.com.au
If your dad has his eye on something from a traditional bricks and mortar store like Super Cheap Auto or Rebel Sports but you don’t have time to go out and purchase physical gift cards, you could try out an eGift card from Prezzee.
At Prezzee you can purchase a “gift card” for a number of different online and physical merchants in various denominations which are emailed to your recipient.
Your recipient then needs to download the Prezzee app and create a “wallet” to add their gift card to. All they then need to do is present the barcode, gift card number or PIN (if required) to the cashier when they make a purchase.
If they don’t want to download the app they can even print the gift barcode out from their email or download it as a PDF.
While I haven’t tried out this particular merchant before it certainly sounds like a quick and convenient last minute gift with the added perk of ensuring dad gets exactly what he wants.
If you’re struggling to find a Father’s Day gift in these last few days I hope this post was helpful.
I have heard that the greatest gift is your time so make the most of it this weekend.
Happy Father’s Day!
