Superjeweler rings

Superjeweler rings

As people the world over plan their Halloween celebrations this month I am eagerly anticipating Christmas season.

It’s approaching quickly, since my last post in this Christmas series 2 whole weeks have gone by so there are just 72 days left until Christmas.

I decided to publish these posts early to allow time for my readers to take up some of my suggestions and visit the merchants I make mention of in my posts.

Some of the links in this post are monetized and the use of them may result in a commission which funds the upkeep of this blog.

Jewellery has always been a popular choice for gifts.

This post, I’ve picked a few jewellery merchants to review and showcase some of their collection.

Superjeweler (

My all time favourite online jewellery merchant is Superjeweler.

Superjeweler are based in New York, USA and ship their collection of fine and fashion jewellery products to customers all over the world.

I first reviewed them in one of my first ever Lady V posts and they are still a favourite of mine.

The Range: Superjeweler offer a full collection of fine and fashion pieces to suit every budget.

The fine jewellery collection includes precious gems including diamonds of different colours and grades set in precious metals.

I love that there is such a broad range from every day fashion pieces to more precious pieces suitable for engagements, weddings and anniversaries.

I have quite a few different Superjeweler pieces in my jewellery collection and below are some of my favourites.

Superjeweler Rings

Mystic Topaz Pendant

As you can see I especially love rings and those of you with slender fingers may rejoice for this jewellery merchant sells rings as small as AU size H (US size 4).

Believe me this is something to buzz about because very few online jewellery merchants I’ve browsed through offer rings that small without adding extra costs for the privilege.

I mean, smaller rings mean less materials right?

Bear in mind that the more budget priced pieces contain diamonds of lower clarity and colour than those you might find in the more expensive range. This is the trade-off but if you don’t mind the use of lower grade gems then you may enjoy the lower priced items.

The items pictured above were each under AU$250.00 per piece and contain diamonds of colour I-J and clarity I2-I3.

Diamond Stud Earrings

The 0.25ct diamond stud earrings in yellow gold pictured above were AU$101.92 from Superjeweler in 2015.

I’m using these earrings as a base of comparison with the other sites I’m reviewing in this post.

Postage: Shipping to Australia and New Zealand – The first time I ever ordered from Superjeweler, I purchased a diamond anniversary band. It was sent to me via FedEx International and reached me in just over a week.

The shipping policy since then has changed and now orders under US$98.99 are sent via DHL Global mail which doesn’t offer tracking or delivery confirmation and can take up to 15 business days for delivery.

I have tried this option and personally found it horrible to wait for 3 weeks with absolutely no idea where my order was and when it would be coming.

You can upgrade your shipping to DHL Track and Trace which includes tracking but costs an extra $19.99 – not great if your order is small to begin with. This option is free on orders over US$99.00.

I found however that delivery by DHL Track and Trace can still take up to 2 weeks even paying the extra $19.99.

FedEx would be my preferred choice but unfortunately this is the most expensive shipping upgrade option.

If you want your parcel handled by FedEx this costs an extra US$49.99 for orders up to US$750.00 or free for orders over US$750.00.

It’s disappointing that the standard shipping to this country is so basic especially given how far orders have to travel to reach here.

If your purchase is a high value piece then the extra shipping is definitely worth it but if you’re buying fashion pieces in small quantities I would recommend either risking the standard shipping or shopping locally to avoid hefty postage fees.

Ordering: Very straightforward. The website provides detailed descriptions, photographs, customer reviews, search features and plenty of search filters (including ring size) so finding what you want couldn’t be simpler. The only thing I wish Superjeweler had was a Wishlist function their website so that you can bookmark certain items to order later. My solution at the moment is to use Pinterest but a wishlist function would be very useful.

My only other gripe about Superjeweler is that there is a limited amount of yellow gold jewellery in each category.

I realise that trends lean towards white gold and platinum jewellery but for those of us who still appreciate the traditional yellow or rose gold look, it would be nice to have some more designs in these materials.

Right now Superjeweler are currently running a special where you can choose from a selection of rings for AU$40.20 and then select 5 additional items for free! Click here

Looking locally there are several jewellery merchants in Australia offering both fine and fashion pieces both on and offline and you’ll find a brief description and links below.

Ice Online (

This online store is probably as close as we can get to a Superjeweler here in Australia and is available to customers in New Zealand also!

As well as having a broad range of fine and fashion jewellery with prices from below $50 to well over $1000.

I like that you can search the entire collection by price if you don’t have something specific in mind.

I noticed that when searching for rings, I wasn’t able to find much in smaller sizes but the website does include a search filter for ring size.

There seems to be a nice variety in the collection and a pair of .10ct diamond stud earrings in yellow gold will set you back AU$269.00 with free shipping.

Ice Online offer free shipping on orders over AU$99.00 to Australia AND New Zealand and a 30-day money back guarantee.

According to the Ice Online website each piece of jewellery comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and further certifications can also be purchased.

Ice Online have released their Top 10 Gifts For Her list. To check it out click here.

Shiels (

Shiels have traditional stores all in Qld, WA and SA but they also offer their collection for sale in their online store.
They seem to have a beautiful collection of jewellery and the prices are quite reasonable.

A pair of 0.10ct diamond stud earrings currently costs AU$199.00 with free Australian delivery.

This isn’t as competitive as Superjeweler however according to the website the diamond clarity in this pair is P1/2 and the colour is H-J. While the diamond clarity is a close match, the colour of the diamonds are slightly better than SJ’s diamond studs.

Navigating the Shiels website seems reasonably straightforward as well.

While there are several filter options for each category, ring size is not one of them so if your ring size isn’t the average you are faced with a tedious search through listings.

They do have a wishlist feature which is brilliant for bookmarking things for later if you’re not into Pinterest.

I like that there is a collection for men as well and this mens watch I think is particularly fetching:

Shiels offer a 30 day money back guarantee with a detailed returns and refund policy which can easily be found on their website.

Shiels are currently running a sale with up to 60% off a range of jewellery in their collection.

Just Jewellery (

The last jewellery store on the list is Just Jewellery, also based in Australia.

This merchant’s collection also contains a beautiful selection of different pieces but again can’t compete with SJ’s pricing.

This website too doesn’t allow you to filter rings by price but it clearly states that all rings held in stock are size P (US 7 ½) and to have them resized can cost between AU$15 – $45 depending on what size you need.

Just Jewellery do seem to have quite a large selection of yellow and rose gold jewellery too including gold chains and bracelets which is refreshing.

They also have a limited selection of children’s jewellery which would make great gifts:

Just Jewellery’s shipping policy includes flat rate shipping for AU$9.00 on orders AU$99.00 and under, free shipping for orders over AU$100.00 with tracking number and signature on delivery.

They also sell their collection internationally with tiered shipping fees depending on your location which includes tracking and insurance.
